life is a game
I was just watching this movie, and after the movie ended, obviously, the guy got the girl and everyone was happy. Of course, the movie was decently made, so I got this happy tingly feeling after watching it. I got into thinking, wow the world really is the great place we all like to think about. but after thinking about it for a while, I thought back to my declining grades at school, my down-going social life, my lack of sleep.... idk... I guess I just thought about everything for a while. And then it hit me. You just saw a movie. Of course it's going to give you a tingly feeling inside that makes you feel happy. But the world really isn't as amazing as you'd like to think. Have you ever noticed how it's not always the nice, sincere people who go places in life? Why do all the nice guys end up having no real life, they just sit around and wonder why, and what they could have done differently? Why are all politicians lying bastards? Why is Bush our president? Here’s the reason: life is a game. Society wants us to think that life is just all fun and games. Ohh-- go out and enjoy yourself. Get drunk with your friends and bang your girlfriend. It’s all great! Nothing will happen! Screw school. Screw life. Nobody cares. It’s all good man... well NO, it's NOT. Society is painting the wrong image in our minds. We need to realize that it is only those who cut corners, those who look nice on the outside, but know what they need to do to get things done who really succeed in life. I suppose the kind of people who society would like to consider ruthless and bad. Now I’m not talking real criminals here. I’m talking nice people who know what they need to do to get things done. I suppose these people could be considered sinful but isn't the idea of sin just another image that society has painted in our minds? Isn’t sin a subjective thing? Who decides what the hell constitutes a sin? Those who are powerful right? And the powerful people decided that it's bad to do what they did because they don't want anyone else to get where they got. Nobody wants to relinquish his throne... right?
I suppose society is required to paint this happy, gleeful image in our minds. If it didn't, then everyone would know the "secret" and look what would happen then.... dum dum dum dum....... everyone is rich and powerful! But doesn't power mean control over others? How the hell can everyone have equal control or influence over everyone else? How is that possible? It isn't. Then there would be some other "secret", and once again somebody would rise up.
Or is life really very good? Should we not be sinful and follow what our religion tells us to do? Maybe life isn't so much of a power struggle as we'd like to think. Maybe we shouldn't be sympathizing with the rich and we should be looking at the poor. The rich did what they needed to get there, but is it a good thing that they got there? Maybe we shouldn't tolerate this sort of bullshit and everyone should be nice! But then there would be no rich. There would be no powerful. Everyone is equal.... isn't that kind of thinking ... communist? Socialist? Whatever the hell you want to call it? And isn't that what we're trying to get away from? I mean, look at what happened to the Soviet Union? We don't want that happening to us. But then look at china. The weaklings at the bottom may have to suffer, but look at the nation as a whole.... they're getting more and more powerful. They are using their man power. They have a shitload of people, why not use them for the good of the country. Well it certainly is a way of thinking. I mean, compare India to China. Same sort of country. Same sort of people. Kind of. But what's the difference? Why isn't India going in quite the same direction as china? Well let's look at what is different between the two countries. The glaring difference, at least to me, is the fact that china is a communist country. India is a democracy. In a democracy, you can't tell someone that they can only have a certain amount of kids. Just think of what would happen if someone made that rule in America. People would be outraged! Suing would occur like mad. Well it's happening like mad right now, so maybe I should say it would happen like furious. Yes, people would start suing like furious. So that takes care of one issue. The population crisis. What about the rest? Why is china exceeding in other ways? The chins aren't any smarter than the Indians are they? No... I don't think so. In fact, if anything, it's probably the other way around. Anyways, back to the subject. I suppose in a communist society, you can instruct people to do shit that you need done. So if you want to have a shitload of people who don't really want to do something do it anyways because they have to, and do it for you, the government, then you can see how china is going ahead economically right? Why isn't the "made in India" sticker on everything in America? What’s so special about China? Well, for starters, you can't have so called "workers" that are really nothing better than slaves working for next to nothing in a democracy. No-- for that you'd need a communist country.
Just think about it though. Although by default, we aren't allowed to think this sort of thing, isn't it kind of true? Is china a living testament to the power of communism? Or better yet, is china showing us that our ideas of right and wrong are flawed? And that what the powerful do to get powerful is ok?
Now don't get me wrong. I’m not trying to say that I think communism is better than democracy. Because I really don't think that. I’m just stating the facts. I mean, I think having someone dictate what I have to do, where I have to work, how I have to live is a really, really shitty thing. And I wouldn't tolerate that. But it's hard to overlook the growing power of china. And really, now that I think of it, what I’m trying to say is equally demonstrated and... counter-demonstrated by democracy and by communism. Ok, first of all, in a democracy, or a "capitalist" economy, you're allowed to have rich and poor. In a communist country, you aren't. It’s more idealistic in a communist country, where everyone is "equal". But in a communist country, everyone but the government is equal. So I guess you could think of it like, a capitalist community allows for the powerful, but the communist society is the result of the powerful. It’s what the powerful can do with their power.
Both ways of thinking have flaws. In a democracy, I can do something with my life, and I can go anywhere I want to go. I can be a winner, and the losers can do whatever the hell they want. They can go get stoned and commit suicide for all I care. But in a communist country, everyone but the government is a loser, but the difference is that the losers aren't allowed to throw away their miserable lives. No, they have to work for the good of the winners, which in turn makes the whole society powerful. But the power only goes to those already in power. And if there are so-called "winners" in the crowd of losers who just aren't being allowed to become powerful, so be it. Consider it a side-effect or something. I suppose that's how a communist would think.
It’s a complex thing, government. It’s far from perfect, but we can't do without it. It hurts, but it helps. Life is a game, and only the winners can go ahead. So do what you need to, get rid of the losers, because life doesn't give a shit about you, or about what's right. So play the game the way life does. And be a winner.
